Kids can discover new skills in our PD Day, Spring Break, and Summer Camps, while ongoing classes help them build confidence and friendships that last.
For adults, we offer intensive workshops led by industry professionals, from week-long Physical Theatre Intensives to special guest sessions designed to challenge and inspire.

FOR KIDS
Calgary Young People’s Theatre and Green Fools Theatre are teaming up to offer your youth an unforgettable day of circus and theatre fun!
On the circus side, participants will get hands-on experience with a wide variety of skills—everything from juggling, diabolo, plate spinning, poi, rola-bola, tight wire, slack line, and stilt walking, to simple acrobatics, walking barrels, and even aerial silks. Skills are taught in ascending difficulty so that every participant can experience success.
On the theatre side, youth will dive into movement, voice, character work, and more as they explore the playful and creative world of theatre.
No experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and energy for this wacky and wonderful day of discovery!

CIRCUS & AERIAL CAMP
FOR KIDS
This Easter Break, let your child dive into the magic of circus arts at Green Fools' immersive camp! Over five action-packed days, campers will discover an exciting range of circus skills: juggling, diabolo, plate spinning, flower sticks, poi, rola-bola, unicycle, tight wire, slack line, stilt walking, simple acro and partner balancing, walking barrels, and aerial arts!

Skill Exploration: Campers will try their hand at a huge variety of circus tricks, from balancing on barrels to mastering unicycles and aerial skills.

Building Confidence & Creativity: With guidance from professional instructors, campers will learn to push their limits in a safe, supportive environment.

Showcase Performance: At the end of the week, campers will collaborate to create a unique show, showcasing their new talents for parents on Friday from 3-4 PM.

SUMMER
CIRCUS & AERIAL CAMPS
FOR LITTLES
Adapted specifically for your little ones! Our half day camps get the tiny tots used to participating in an activity for a half day, but the activity is running away to the circus!
Our Activities: craft time, aerial hammock and lyra/hoop, Slack line, tight wire, rola bola, block stilts, basic of tossing and catching different juggling props, floor acrobatics. These activities are based around teamwork and games; our circus camps will help the young ones to discover new ways of moving and playing with others.
There will be a share time in the last 30 minutes of the class on Friday.

FOR ADULTS
This four-week introduction invites you to explore hoop, trapeze, hammock, and silks through a supportive, start-where-you-are approach. You’ll build strength, stability, and fluidity while discovering what makes each apparatus unique. Expect to challenge yourself, find playfulness in the air, and gain confidence with every class.

For students who have completed Beginner Mixed Aerial or equivalent experience, this class deepens your aerial practice. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
PUPPET INTENSIVE
FOR ADULTS
This immersive intensive introduces participants to the art and craft of puppetry, exploring a wide range of styles and techniques. The class begins with the fundamentals of object animation, learning how to breathe life into inanimate objects, discover their movement, and bring them alive as an ensemble.
Over the course, participants will:

Experiment with hands as puppets, before moving into shadow play with hands and shadow puppets.

Explore traditional and contemporary forms, including Bunraku-style puppets, marionettes, and large-scale creations.

Learn to work with hand-and-rod puppets while also diving into TV puppetry techniques using a monitor.

Collaborate in groups to create characters and tell stories through movement, rhythm, and play.
No prior puppetry experience is required, and participants are welcome to bring their own puppets to experiment with. This intensive is perfect for performers, creators, and anyone curious about the endless possibilities of puppetry.

PHYSICAL THEATRE INTENSIVE
FOR ADULTS
This week-long intensive invites adults to dive deep into the world of physical theatre, exploring techniques that awaken creativity, presence, and play. Each day begins with energizing physical warm-ups and interactive team-building games, building the foundation for a supportive and dynamic ensemble.
Over the course, participants will:

Develop body awareness through corporeal mime, learning to use movement as a tool for emotion and storytelling.

Experiment with masks – neutral, half, and full-face – to uncover new dimensions of character and performance.

Embrace the world of clowning, using improvisation, movement, and slapstick to create bold, physical characters.

Venture into Buffon, exploring satire, parody, and the darker side of clown.
Classes are highly physical, come dressed to move. This workshop is ideal for students, performers, or anyone eager to expand their creative toolkit. Perfect for the ambitious, the curious, and the fearless.
