Hosted by Green Fools! Join us as we unveil our latest giant puppet and present live musicians, stilt walkers and performers!
At 16 kilometers, Calgary’s Plus 15 Skywalk is the world’s most extensive elevated pedestrian walkway. As we prepare to welcome the Year of the Dragon, the Plus 15 will host a colourful surprise to commuters as dozens of costumed performers parade through its hallways!
In a multicultural celebration of the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dragon +15 Art Parade will feature musicians, dragon dancers, traditional Chinese costumes and much more.
This one-of-a-kind event will travel through the Plus 15 system from 4:00-5:00 pm, starting at Bankers Hall (315 8th Ave SW) and concluding at Sun Life Plaza (144 4th Ave SW). Don’t miss the fun as this indoor parade marches through downtown!

TEACHING CIRCUS IN KUUJJUAQ
Dean (seen here with aerialist and co-instructor Rebecca Leonard) travelled nearly as far north as you can go to Kuujjuaq to teach with Cirque Du Monde. This great work reaches kids in remote communities, many at risk and facing huge challenges. These circus workshops literally save lives and bring fun, hope, joy and play to this snowy land!

Welcome to Green Fools 21st Year!
We have so many exciting new projects this season. We are thrilled to announce the Halloween Howl will be at the Uptown again this year- hint- expect an ‘other worldly’ experience. We return to One Yellow Rabbit’s Rodeo as hosts of the Year of the Dragon Parade. Look out for a new giant puppet! We will be presenting Once Upon An Atomic Bomb, a new puppet musical in March with Ghost Rivers AD Eric Rose and composer David Rhymer. Don’t miss our free, family event the annual April Fools Day Parade- cheer in spring! We will begin development of our next puppet production. As well we will be touring to teach and perform throughout Calgary and beyond. The Trickster Project is a weeklong circus arts mentorship program that uses circus skills training as a vehicle with which to foster teamwork, build self-esteem and develop leadership skills with students in grades 4 – 12. The project is a partnership between the Calgary International Children’s Festival and Green Fools Theatre and has operated annually for the past four years.
The project recently completed its second year at the Chief Jacob Bearspaw Memorial School on the Eden Valley Reserve located near Longview, Alberta. Teachers and counselors have noted positive outcomes including improvements in student behavior, their respect for each other and their openness towards new experiences.
The community has expressed a strong desire to have the Trickster Project return to the school in the fall of 2011. We are seeking partners able to contribute towards making this happen.

Green Fools Theatre is a not for profit charitable organization specializing in masks, puppets and stilts. Based in Calgary, our work has toured internationally for all sorts of audiences; we work extensively with communities and youth at risk. Each year we run a casino to raise vital funds for the company. The funds go to pay for day-to-day operations, new puppet shows, workshops, our events and other Green Fools programming.
